They were very shy and frightened when they came to the shelter, because they have certainly not experienced much good in their short life. They love each other and play and cuddle a lot together. They also show no fears or anxiety to the other puppies in the shelter. They learn now that even two-legged friends are good to them and hands are only there for cuddles and food. People, to whom the two might belong, were not to be seen, and they were not microchipped. Their finders brought them to a shelter. Obviously they had a home, because as they were checked by the vet he found out that they were already neutered. Of course, they were a bit confused the first days in the shelter, now they have arranged with the situation and love the shelter manager. They follow her every step. In unknown situations they are afraid, but when they realize that everything is safe and nothing happens to them, they immediately relax. Both are very well with the other dogs in the shelter. Name: Tekla (female) Date of birth: April 2008 Height to shoulder: 34 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: yes ok with dogs, not tested with cats Admitted to shelter: April 2017 Tekla was found together with Tami by shelter helpers. They were tied up at the shelter fence. Both were in a good condition, wore collars, and they had food and water next to them. Tekla was initially quite confused, unfortunately we don´t know how long they were already at the fence. All night, or few hours, we don´t know. They was brought to the vet and the check revealed that Tekla is positive for Leishmaniasis. Her chance to get adopted is not very high. Meanwhile, Tekla has noticed that she is safe and someone cares for her every day. She trusts the helpers and is well with all other dogs. Tekla has a rather quiet and very sweet character and she don´t want to spend the rest of her life in the shelter. When he was taken out of the pound he was a full of fear and hardly dared to move. After a short time in the shelter he has already gained more confidence and shows only a bit shyness in humans he doesn´t know. If he notice that nothing happens to him he begins to be open-minded and wants to be stroked and cuddled. He also walks outside the kennel without fear with the helpers and shows his gentle and loving nature towards all humans. He understands well with the other dogs in his group.
