Name: Roumbi (male) Date of birth: May 2012 Height to shoulder: 34 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: yes ok with dogs, ok with cats Homed: June 2017 Roumbi was born in May 2012 and he is in the shelter since May 2016. The story of Roumbi makes you sad and angry at the same time. Roumbi was handed over by her owner at the shelter because she said she could no longer take care of him. She had found him about 3 years ago, kept him and handed him off at the shelter. However, it turned out that she had not really cared about him before. Both eyes were clouded and the vet check of the eyes revealed that he can not see very well, the blood test revealed the reason of his poor state, Roumbi is leishmaniosis positive. Now Roumbi gets medication in the shelter and we have the hope that his eyes will a bit recover and he will not be blind. Roumbi is a very nice and friendly dog, he is well with dogs and cats and he also loves children. We really hope that he will find a home despite he was tested positive for leishmaniosis. Cindy was looking for a home, because the former family had to the leave the island and could not take her with them. Cindy found a foster home in Germany and fortunately she found only a day later her forever home. Cindy was very unhappy to be without her former family. She was always with them and missed them very much. It is not easy for these dogs to arrange with new situations, when they were happy until then. Fortunately the new family gives her all the time she needs to get used with the new situation and slowly slowly Cindy shows her new family that she is there happy too. Both had five more siblings, one of them had died shortly after birth. Residents watched the mama and her six puppies, also watched that a hunter came who took the mother and two puppies away and left the other 4. Now finally someone became active and brought the left puppies from the road. In the meantime two were rehomed on the island and the last two were brought to a shelter. Now Zita and Zola are waiting to find their happiness too. Both sisters were born with short tails, Zita has the shorter one. Zita is even more timid than Zola, Zola is more open-minded than her sister. It is only a matter of time, because they already trust the shelter helpers and they are very good with the other puppies in their group. We guess, that the mother was exposed and gave birth to her puppies on this place. After two puppies died the mother and the other two puppies were brought to a shelter. Dina is a lovely and lively cute little girl. She is a typical puppy and gets along very well with the other dogs in her kennel. The mommy got adopted by the finder, Dina and her sister are now looking for a forever home. The mother has a shoulder height of 44cm, unfortunately the father is unknown, but we do not think that Dina will be a giant when she is fully grown.
