Happy-Endings

Lea has found her happiness

Do you remember our little Lea? She was thrown over the fence of a shelter in January. The little pointer girl was emaciated and had an old and wrong coalesced broken leg. In the end of March 2014 she was allowed to move into her foster home in Germany. Now four months have passed and Lea had her surgery and has found her home with us. In Lea’s leg was still the custom-designed plate. This Monday she has done it, her last surgery took place. The doctors of the veterinary clinic removed the plate. Lea is now ready for her new life and our worries are over. At this time only a long scar will remember about her bad life before she was found. Her her bone in her leg is now straight and she can enjoy her life in a couple of days. At the moment she is in pain from the last surgery. In September Lea will go to a dog school. We have been her pampered too much. Now she has to learn to behave well. We were very pleased that Barbara Bahlburg visit us on her brief visit in Germany. She want to visit her child of sorrowr. But the child of sorrow is now in happiness. It’s great that with the help of so many people Leas history was rewritten. A big thank you to all involved. Greetings, Lea and her family    ...

Tina – in happiness

Greetings from Tina! The first 2 weeks we had a small understanding problem when I said „come here“ she sat down, etc. After 14 days everything went quite well. Nevertheless, she is and remains a sleeping pill. In the morning she is always sooooo tired and otherwise she is also very quiet. Only if she has other dogs to play with then she will become active and she also loves her ball and stuffed animals. Even with our cats she get along well. She has settled in very well. She loves to be in our allotment and the forest is in the near. And even at home she loves the walks. We go out every day at the lake with her dog buddies. Thank you for the little princess, Tina and her family...

Willow – all are really happy with her

Hi everybody, here is a message from Willow, who flew on 10th April 2014 to Hamburg, where she was so eagerly awaited by us. Us, these are: mother, father, child, grandma and grandpa. And it seems as if we had made a stroke of luck! Willow anyway, because really all conditions for a happy dog’s life are in place and we loved her from the first moment. The chemistry was immediate. At home She loved to lie on the couch from the first moment. She is completely healthy, cheerful and jolly and pleased with her mates. Only me, her owner, she can never let me out of her sight. We still need to train short separations. There are probably a few fears. In the dog school she learns easily and is happy about any task. We hope that she will have a happy dog’s life on our side. A very big and heartfelt thank you to all who have endeavored to ensure that she could fly to us. Greetings from Hamburg, Willow and family  ...

Byron – lucky boy

Hello everybody, I am wring to say that I hope you had a Happy Christmas, and to let you know how I am getting on in my new home. I like it here very much, although it is usually cold, and somebody pours alot of water down from the sky quite often – I think that they call it rain.  I don’t mind though because I have a nice new raincoat that keeps me warm and dry when I go out for long walks with my new friends Alfie and Larni. My friends look after me and let me share everything with them – even their nice warm beds!  They have shown me how to walk nicely on a lead, although I found it very strange at first, but Uncle Michael and Auntie Val tell me that I am getting quite good at it now.  We have lots of cuddles, especially in the chair at night, and there is nothing quite like nice, warm cuddles! I have had lots of Christmas dinners, and Auntie Val says that I may have to go on a diet after Christmas – I’m not sure what that is, but I don’t think that I like the sound of it! Uncle Michael says the diet sounds good, otherwise he will have to take me out for even longer walks in the cold wind and rain, so I can’t decide what is best for me.  Less food, or long cold walks – it is very difficult! Any way, I must go now – I have written to Auntie Yuliya, and sent her some pictures, but would you be kind enough to send them to Auntie Susi for me, and thank her for getting me ready to come to my new home.  I am very happy here with my new friends Alfie and Larni – you will see them in the pictures. Love from Byron             A few months have passed… I am sorry that it is so long since I have written, but we have been very busy moving to our new cottage in the country.  We now live in a place called Bourton, and we love it here. Our garden is much bigger, and there is lots of room to run around and play – which we do quite a lot!  I don’t run as much as my friends Alfie and Larni, because I’m the oldest, but we still have lots of fun. When I’m tired, I just go and find somewhere comfortable to sleep, or if it is very hot I scrape up the earth and lie down there where it is cooler, just like I did in Cyprus. The new garden is really good for digging great big holes, which we all enjoy.I am very happy with my new friends in our new garden. We all had to go to our new vet, and we were very brave. I was lucky because I didn’t need an injection this time, and Alfie and Larni did, but the vet says that I have to go on a diet because I like my food too much, and that does not sound good to me! See you soon, Love...
