Francis – is the sunshine of her family

The “small” Francis is now living just over a year with her family in Germany. Francis took a few days to settle in. She never wanted to go far away from the house. It also took a long time to be housebroken. Meanwhile she has settled in her home. She has a very large land with adjoining forest to romp and play. Francis goes to dogs always friendly and shows no aggression. She shows no fear of people. She goes open-minded and friendly to all. She is still a bit jumpy in front of trains and buses, but even she will learn it. Francis is a very affectionate dog and she loves the sun. In the summer she was on a lake, where she has purely dare a little bit, otherwise she is more afraid of water . Francis is the sunshine of the family and the family never give back this sunshine. We see, our “little” Francis is grown up. Is this happy ending not the proof that even dark, brindle and not only cute dogs also deserve to have a nice home just as bright or cute dogs (in the eyes of society)? We are very happy for Francis, that she has such a loving home. Thank you to the family!  ...

Banoffi – is happy in her new home

The story of Banoffi is that she was found running scared along a road up in Fasoulla Village. She was seen a few times with her mother and they seemed to be living in a shed about 200 meters up the road. She was picked up and went back to the shed to find her mother dead in the shed – looked like poisoning. At that point the finders took her in hoping the cats would accept a new puppy – but sadly not. Banoffi has a very loving nature and only makes a squeak if she is left alone – she loves company. She has also showed no aggression towards the cats – she is desperate to be friends with them. In a Pet shop in Episkopi she met another puppy and loved playing with him. Poppy – she hit the jackpot

Poppy has found her forver home. She arrived this morning in England. She hit the jackpot with a wonderful family. Two children, a german pointer and a cat. We were so worried Poppy will be completely scared and hide in a corner somewhere. She did fantastic. By now she is sleeping on the sofa, and sniffing around the English country side. Lucky little girl. I wish all dogs from here could have the same fortune. At the airport, she was the calmest one. All the other dogs were crying and howling, she just sat in her crate and then finally laid down and just relaxed. It was amazing to see. Thank you so much for letting us borrow the crate, I think that is what made all the difference for her to be crate trained. Poppy and her former foster family  ...

Two who have made it – Paddy and Oliver are in happiness

Paddy was found before the gates of the PAWS shelter. He was simply tied there, with a garbage and a piece of bread. He was hurt, so he was immediately taken to the vet. He limped, had a bump on his head and his eye was injured. A X-ray image shows that somebody had shot him in the body. He had several pellets in the body and also behind his eye. Also his front leg was broken by a bullet. Oliver was rescued from a municipality pound. His brother died there. Oliver was lucky that one of our foster homes could take him home. He had recovered there very well from the strains. Both were allowed to make the trip in their happiness to Germany in 2012. Oliver has been renamed and is now called Krümel. The two were adopted by two generations. Both are very happy together. The two play, romp and share the dog baskets and cuddle places. All family members are very happy with Paddy and Krümel We wish all of them a lot of fun together.    ...
