Name: Leila (female) Date of birth: November 2014 Height to shoulder: 45 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: yes ok with dogs, not tested with cats Homed: January 2017 Leila was found on a rental car park at the Larnaca airport. The owner family love dogs, but they were not able to take them home, since they have already begun to take home a lot of dogs and can not take more dog. But they took care of them on the square. They made her a safe place to sleep and was checked by the vet. Leila spent her days with the family in the parking lot. Only the customers did not like this, because Leila greeted friendly and many customers complained they did not want to be greeted by a dog. The family did not want to put Leila on the chain and so they brought her with a heavy heart to a shelter. Leile is a very friendly girl. In a new environment, she is only a bit shy, but gets used to it quickly. She is well with other dogs. Leila had almost found her family, but then the blood test revealed that she is leishmaniosis positive. The result has made all very sad. Leila is still very young and sweet, but this result will make it very difficult for her to find a family and that means for her that probably she must spend her life in the shelter. We will not give up our hope that we will find a family for Leila who will adopt her despite her illness, because even with leishmaniasis dogs can live a normal life if you deals with the disease properly. They had been left out of the litter and were now annoying. Fortunately, they landed in a shelter and were not simply exposed in the wilderness. Mini and their two brothers and sisters apparently had only a bit contact with the family they grew up with, they would like to be close to us, but they are still quite timid. But if they are in our arms, they snuggle up. They don´t know the leash yet, hopefully they will learn to walk on the leash soon. With other dogs they understand well and play around with them. Their mother was probably already pregnant as she was exposed. The siblings have found a place in a shelter before the winter starts and the rain and the cold comes. The boys are still a bit shy because of their lack of human contact so far, but they are still young and will lose their shyness to people daily. We are hopeful that they will be quite normal cheerful puppies soon. They are very good with the other puppies in their group, they play and show no fears. Both were brought to a shelter by their finders. Helen was very anxious when she came to the shelter, but could now reduce her fears. She runs no longer away from us and comes to be stroked, but she is still very submissive. Helen is neutered and vaccinated and had the great hope to find a forever home soon, but then unfortunately she was tested positive of leishmaniasis. She is treated and gets medication but she has no sign of illness. She is a lively little girl wishes so much to have her own family.
