Buster was thrown over the fence of a shelter. He was very scared and it took some time to catch him. He had an infected wound beneath his tail, someone shot him in the butt. He has six more bullets in his body. Buster had an operation where his wound was cleaned. From this he has already recovered well. He gets along well with other dogs, but he wants to keep all toys for himself. He is still afraid of us humans and is submissive. Anton

Name: Anton (male) Date of birth: November 2013 Height to shoulder: 60 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: yes ok with dogs, not tested with cats Admitted to shelter: October 2016 Anton was found in a village outside Limassol´s, and was brought to a shelter by his finders. From the first minute when he came to the shelter he had the nicest character to everyone. Because he was always in contact to the helpers they saw that his ears and the fur on them were not ok. The test at the vet confirmed our fears, unfortunately Anton is leishmaniasis positive. Despite of the ears you can´t see any signs of illness. He is in a good state. He gets now tablets and his ears are already healing. In the shelter he shows every day how nice and smart he is. He likes all humans and the other dogs in his kennel. Theo

Name: Theo (male) Date of birth: January 2009 Height to shoulder: 55 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: yes ok with dogs, ok with cats Admitted to shelter: April 2011 Theo is a Shepherd cross, born in 2009. He was found in April 2011 in the streets of Limassol. He wandered through the area, always looking for food. Theo is a nice boy, he was easily to catch and then he was brought to a shelter. Theo is friendly and open-minded. He likes the other dogs in his kennel and he loves to play. As soon as the kennel is entered by the helpers, Theo is in the front because he wants to get a few cuddles. Unfortunately, Theo is tested positive for Leishmaniosis is positive and his chances to get a home are very low because of this disease. Theo show no signs of illness and we hope that it never breaks out. Theo is such a great and friendly dog, who has had never a chance. He is looking for a place in a loving environment. Spotty

Name: Spotty (male) Date of birth: May 2009 Height to shoulder: 43 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: yes ok with dogs, ok with cats Admitted to shelter: April 2015 Spotty was found by a lady outside of Limassol. She was looking for help, because she could not take Spotty. Spotty is not young dog and he did not have much confidence. We assume that he belongs to one of the many hunters from the island, which don´t want their dogs when they are too old for hunting. Spotty’s vet check revealed, although he didn´t show any signs, unfortunately that he is Leishmaniosis positive and now he will be blind in his right eye. Spotty is still a shy boy . With other dogs he is very good. We think that he will have spent most of his life in the company of dogs. We hope that Spotty will find people who want to give him a loving home despite the diagnosis of Leishmaniosis. Harper

Harper has a loving character, he is playful and loves contact with us humans. He has a lot of strength and he would like to a dog school. He is well with other dogs. Unfortunately, he has only a half-banged tail, but for him it is ok. Harper began to cough after a while, and assumed that he was suffering from kennel cough. The visit to the vet did not confirm this and further investigation revealed that Harper has a severe heart weakness that causes this cough. Now he gets daily heart medicines and his cough gone.
