… and we want to try to make this possible.
When we saw the first pictures of Coco we had tears in our eyes. We had to try to help her.
Coco was brought, as so many dogs in Cyprus, in a Municipality pound. Animal rights activists were just there to take care of the dogs when Coco was brought there in the back seat of a car. She was absolutely terrified at the sight of her: she had total horror in her eyes and was abused and traumatized. Just as she was she was put in a cage. Every sound made her so scared that she started to pee. Every time we tried to approach her she could not allow it and began to growl. In any case, she wanted to be touched by anyone… somehow… she had simply terrified.
Outwardly, you saw the bad times she had go through. Coco looked like a single dreadlock. Her fur was really only dreadlocks. She was very very unkempt and neglected.
The animal right activists found no better place for such a traumatized dog, she had to stay in the pound. The first few days she remained only in this little wooden box that stood in her cage. She was shaking all day and had no close to the people. The employees of the pound did not improve her condition, because as Coco did not come out from her wooden box, the employee simply sprayed the entire wooden box with Coco in there with cold water to clean the box. After a few days she began to trust a little bit more the animal rights activists.
The animal rights activists brought her again from her cage to build trust with people. But they could not be spending hours on her site and so Coco had still only little human contact.
One animal rights activist did everything possible to bring Coco far away from the pound. After a meeting Coco was allowed to move to a shelter, which was hopefully for her the first step in the right direction. Now she passes through there a kind of rehabilitation and to learn to trust people again.
She is now a much happier girl, but she’s still afraid of strangers and is then very carefully. She needs time to trust and to feel safe.
Coco wants a home with people who love her unconditionally. She needs a home without trouble a a lot of action. Coco needs rest and relaxation. She has more fear of men, they should be very patient with her. Small teeming children should not live in the household. In her new home she need people who understand her and can empathize with her.
Despite her bad experience she wants to love and trust people, but only if she realizes and knows that this people loves her and wants nothing bad.
If you have fallen in love with Coco and you could imagine to love Coco for the rest oh her life, then we would be very pleased if you contact us.
Coco is waiting for you.
