Hello together,
hope everything is well in Cyprus. Here are a few photos of Tilly. She has settled in so well now. Her little beagle tail is always standing up or wagging now. She has been learning some new tricks now on comand, she will sit and wait now at the road, she also heels at the command to come. This is only if there is a treat involved naturally 🙂 .
She is such a pleasure to have and I do love her dearly, she loves going out around the lovely parks we have , but I do feel sorry for her when she meets other dogs and wants to run free and play with them as I cannot let her off lead as I am not sure what she would do, maybe with time and some more training it may be possible but for both of us it is early days yet.

Monday the 17th November saw us all get together for the last Pet Club of 2014.
We are very sad that it was also Carole Husein’s last ever Pet Club here as she heads for ‘fresher’ climes!! We all thank Carole so much for her work, not only with the Pet Club, in all areas of animal welfare and Education and Training since she has been working with us. We will all miss her, and of course Sally and Ace.
As this was the last Club day for this year the children had been asked to bring in their special folders. There was some great work done on the folders and a few prizes were given out foe special efforts.
Whilst we were busy reviewing and judging the folders the children were given some coloured modelling clay and asked to make a model of either Sally or Marley. As you can see from the pictures there were some amazing models – what talent there is out there!!
… and we want to try to make this possible.
When we saw the first pictures of Coco we had tears in our eyes. We had to try to help her.
Coco was brought, as so many dogs in Cyprus, in a Municipality pound. Animal rights activists were just there to take care of the dogs when Coco was brought there in the back seat of a car. She was absolutely terrified at the sight of her: she had total horror in her eyes and was abused and traumatized. Just as she was she was put in a cage. Every sound made her so scared that she started to pee. Every time we tried to approach her she could not allow it and began to growl. In any case, she wanted to be touched by anyone… somehow… she had simply terrified.
Outwardly, you saw the bad times she had go through. Coco looked like a single dreadlock. Her fur was really only dreadlocks. She was very very unkempt and neglected.
The animal right activists found no better place for such a traumatized dog, she had to stay in the pound. The first few days she remained only in this little wooden box that stood in her cage. She was shaking all day and had no close to the people. The employees of the pound did not improve her condition, because as Coco did not come out from her wooden box, the employee simply sprayed the entire wooden box with Coco in there with cold water to clean the box. After a few days she began to trust a little bit more the animal rights activists.
Robbie was bought as a puppy, but the owner lost the interest in him. When this happened we do not know exactly. Anyway, he eked out from the moment his life on the balcony, on a short leash attached, all alone.
There it was not often cleaned, as animal rights activists picked him up there he stood in his own feces.
In summer, animal rights activists were aware of Robbie, as they were informed that because a dog is tied up on the balcony and his owners are gone on holiday. The neighbors have thrown him food on the balcony and supplies him with water.
Now the animal rights activists explained the owners that they need to leave him and Robbie was able to move in a shelter.
Despite all this, Robbie is a happy little dog who enjoys it now to get attention from the shelter volunteers.
We hope that we find a family soon for him and he is never left alone again.
